New Delhi, Oct 22: Carrying forward its peace initiative with Pakistan, India today proposed a number of measures including launching a bus service from Srinagar with Muzaffarabad in Pakistan occupied Kashmir and offered to restore full sporting links between the two countries. (as broadcast on TV this will include cricket).
India also proposed to Pakistan establishing link between the coast guards of the two countries on the pattern of Director General of Military Operations (DGMO), External Affairs Minister Yashwant Sinha announced at a press conference after the meeting of Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS).
India will also consider launching a ferry service between Mumbai and Karachi, he said.
Government also proposed to Pakistan non-arrest of fishermen of the other country within a certain band on sea, Sinha said, adding the extent of the band could be worked out through diplomatic channels.
India also proposed to offer free treatment to another batch of 20 children of Pakistan after the same number were given treatment here earlier, he said.
He, however, asserted that despite these steps, war against cross-border terrorism will continue.
